Privacy guidelines for this website

Last updated: October 20, 2026. Each app has its own policy; they are listed in section 8.

The short version

  • This site sets no cookies.
  • It counts page views with Vercel Web Analytics, which stores nothing on your device and gives me totals, not people. You can switch it off in Cookie settings, and it starts off if your browser sends Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track.
  • No advertising, no third-party trackers, no selling or sharing of visitor data.
  • Content from TikTok and Veritio Digital loads only when you press its Load button, unless you allow it in Cookie settings.

1. Who runs this site

calmdownoscar.com is a one-person studio run by Peter. For anything on this page, write to peter@calmdownoscar.com.

2. Kept on your device

A few things are saved in your browser’s local storage. They stay on your device, are never sent to me, and go when you clear this site’s data in your browser.

WhatWhy
Cookie settingsYour choice for visitor statistics and embeds, and the date you saved it.
Idea Clinic draftAn unfinished idea, so you can continue it later. Nothing you type in the Idea Clinic is sent anywhere.
Norwegian course progressYour place in the Norsksti test course on Playground.
Motorcycle assistant modelIf you boot it on Playground, the browser keeps the downloaded model so it doesn’t download again.

3. Visitor statistics

I use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people visit, which pages they read and where they came from. The script is served from this domain and sends a page view to this domain; nothing goes to an analytics company’s own servers from your browser.

Each page view can include:

  • the time and the page address
  • the site that linked you here
  • country, region and city, worked out from your connection
  • browser, operating system and their versions
  • device type: desktop, tablet or mobile

No cookie or identifier is stored on your device. Vercel tells one visit from another with a hash made from the incoming request and discards it after 24 hours, so I can’t follow anyone from day to day or across other sites, and the dashboard shows totals only.

Turning it off. Use Cookie settings. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, statistics start off and stay off unless you switch them on. With JavaScript off, nothing is counted.

4. Hosting

The site is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel handles your IP address and browser details to deliver each page and to keep the site safe from abuse. That happens whether or not statistics are on.

5. Content from other companies

Most pages load from this domain only. These are the exceptions:

  • Hobbies, TikTok feed. Pressing Load TikTok feed fetches TikTok’s scripts and videos. TikTok may set cookies under its own privacy policy.
  • Playground, Chatty. Pressing Load the chat opens a chat run by Veritio Digital. It receives the page address, the referring page and every message you send, and may set its own cookies. See veritiodigital.com.
  • Playground, motorcycle assistant. Opening Playground loads the WebLLM library from esm.run and jsDelivr. Booting the assistant downloads the model from Hugging Face. Answers show pictures and YouTube clips loaded directly from whoever hosts them.
  • Playground, Norwegian course. A test build served through this site from a separate host.

Links to the App Store, GitHub and other sites take you to those sites, under their policies.

6. What you send

The motorcycle assistant on Playground sends each question as a search query through this site’s server to Serper, to fetch the pictures and clips. The site’s code doesn’t save it, though the query is part of the request address, and Vercel’s request logs record addresses for a short time.

The Idea Clinic sends nothing. It ends in a prompt you copy into your own AI.

7. Email

If you email me, I keep the message so I can answer it and follow up. Ask and I’ll delete it.

8. The apps

This page covers the website. Each app has its own policy:

9. Your rights

You can ask what I hold about you, have it corrected or deleted, and object to how it’s used. In practice that means email: visitor statistics are totals and can’t be traced back to you. If you’re unhappy with my answer, you can complain to the data protection authority where you live.

10. Changes

When this page changes, the date at the top changes with it. Anything that adds a cookie or a new company would be listed here first.
