Kitchen Vision
The short version
Kitchen Vision does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. All scoring calculations, ball tracking, rolling-buffer video replays, and multi-device communications operate 100% locally and offline on your devices via peer-to-peer Apple Multipeer Connectivity.
1. Local Processing & No Cloud Servers
Kitchen Vision is designed from the ground up as a private, self-contained sports officiating system. The app does not operate any backend servers, analytics tracking services, advertising frameworks, or remote telemetry. What happens on your court stays on your court.
2. Camera Access & Video Review
Kitchen Vision requests camera permissions solely for:
- Tracking the pickleball and detecting net crossings in real time.
- Maintaining a short, rolling local memory buffer to generate instant VAR slow-motion video replays of disputed rallies.
Video frames in the rolling buffer are stored temporarily in volatile memory or local device cache. They are never uploaded to any remote server or third-party service. When you choose to export or save a highlight replay clip, it is saved directly to your device's Photo Library.
3. Photo Library Access
If you choose to export a rally replay clip or highlight video, Kitchen Vision requests permission to add items to your Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription). The app only saves video clips you explicitly export and does not read or scan your existing photo library.
4. Local Network & P2P Connectivity
Kitchen Vision uses Apple's MultipeerConnectivity framework (Wi-Fi and Bluetooth P2P) to synchronize scores and cameras between paired iPhones and iPads (e.g. Master Desk, Solo Umpire, and Multi-Camera Mesh). All communications travel over encrypted, direct device-to-device local wireless connections. No internet connection or external Wi-Fi router is required or used.
5. In-App Purchases
Kitchen Vision Pro subscriptions are processed securely by Apple via the standard iOS StoreKit framework. CalmdownOscar never receives or stores your credit card, billing address, or financial information.
