The questions that come up most, and a direct line if yours isn't one of them.
I deleted a lot, but my storage didn't change
This is expected, and it's the single most common thing people write in about. ClearSpace deletes exactly the way the Photos app does: removed photos go to Recently Deleted, where they sit for 30 days before they're gone for good. Nothing is destroyed immediately, on purpose — it's the same safety net Photos itself gives you.
Your storage only frees up once that folder is emptied. Open Photos → Albums → Recently Deleted → Select → Delete All, and the space comes back straight away.
What does the heart do?
It's the same Favourite you already see in Apple Photos — there's only one, and it's shared. Hearting a photo in ClearSpace favourites it in Photos too, and anything you'd already favourited shows up hearted here. With Hide Hearted switched on (the default), a photo leaves the grid the moment you heart it, so the pile you're working through only ever shrinks.
Why can't I clear everything at once, or select many photos together?
Finding, sorting, filtering, hearting, filing into albums, and deleting one photo at a time are all free, with no limit. Clearing many photos in a single action — the "delete everything without a heart" button, and multi-photo selection — is unlocked by a one-time purchase. It's a single payment, not a subscription, and it's yours for good once bought.
Already purchased it and it's not unlocking on a new phone or after a reinstall? Open the offer screen and tap Restore purchase — it re-checks your Apple Account rather than charging you again.
Does ClearSpace find duplicate photos?
Not yet on iPhone. It's on the roadmap, but nothing in the current version claims to find duplicates — if you've seen that claim anywhere, it's out of date and we'd genuinely like to know where, so we can fix it.
A video won't play, or plays with no sound
If it's stored only in iCloud and your connection is slow, give it a moment — ClearSpace downloads what it needs when you open a video, never in the background. Sound plays regardless of your silent switch, the same as Photos; if a video is still silent, check your phone's volume and that no other device (headphones, a speaker) is claiming the audio output.
Where does my data go?
Nowhere. Everything happens on your device — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail.
